ID Language School

Dutch language courses & tutoring

About Us

We are a small-scaled school located in The Hague, specialised in teaching Dutch as a second language, also known as NT2 (Nederlands als tweede taal). Founded by Isabel Djini in the late summer of 2014, with the idea of starting a school that follows its own curriculum, next to various practical methods. A place where fun learning is always a priority. Where quality comes before quantity and dynamics before dry theory.

What makes us unique?

We are people-people, and always try to combine teaching with lively practice. Different songs/ music and cultural activities are part of our curriculum. Caring for our students is part of who we are, and we always  try to ensure our students reach their goals as easily and happily as possible. We  offer outdoor lessons in one of The Hague’s many beautiful parks, when the weather allows it, as a change from the regular classroom. We combine online with offline classes if required, even outdoors. At ID Language School, we love to help you step out of your comfort zone and inspire and encourage to make your growth a reality.

What People Say About us

I started this course around the time I moved to the Hague and I had no prior knowledge of Dutch. The course was incredibly useful for learning the language and it also introduced me to others and provided me an opportunity to use Dutch in conversation and in my daily life. Isabel is a wonderful teacher and all the lessons were very engaging and lively. I took part in a more conversation-oriented course where we played games, talked in Dutch and practiced reading and holding conversations. Isabel was very involved in the process and she recommended Dutch books and songs to help me immerse myself in the language. I started off as a complete beginner and now I feel much more confident interacting with others in Dutch. I really enjoyed this course and I'd highly recommend it to anyone else interested in learning or improving their Dutch.

When I moved in the Hague, I tried to learn Dutch with a app. After a year, I decided to take a late class at the ID Language course to be able to speak and read a little in the tongue of my new home. It was nearly two years ago!
I chose this school for all the possibility : one on one lesson or group, the teaching and the conversation classes. I stayed for the warm atmosphere of the team. Pranayani has always a good advise depending on your level, we speak Dutch as much as possible during the class and she adapts her vocabulary to be understandeable by her students. I made a lot of progress thanks to her, I am able to have a small talk and to read some articles in the newspaper! And I enjoyed every late lesson we spent together, in the classroom or in the park!

I’ve tried several different schools and have had 15+ teachers and I can honestly say Isabel is one of the best. Her classes are small and she adds variety to her lessons. She’ll also send you regular recommendations and info on cultural events etc so the learning is not limited to the classroom. You can definitely tell she’s passionate about teaching Dutch. Also, the price/quality ratio can’t be beat.

From all the Dutch schools I checked in The Hague this is the only one that really gave me a good feeling from the beginning and I was right, as it turned out to be fantastic. Small and cozy groups, personalized attention and Isabel (the teacher) really knows how to make a class fun. We use very handy and good materials, we have a lot of conversations and we play fun games from now and then. I really recommend it 100% if what you want is to learn Dutch and enjoy your time at class.
